A thousand words of advice
A million stories thrown upon your ears
A plethora of anecdotes to put you to sleep
And a mountain of
Advice unsolicited
Are most obviously not what you are
Asking for. Therefore, I
Ask you: What do you need?
A moment of silence,
A listening ear,
A friend and father who cares.
Always loving,
Always there for you without judgment
A million hugs
A billion more silences and occasionally
Affirmation that you are still worthy of love.
A confirmation that you are not crazy
A word of encouragement and hope
A fleeting smile of understanding
And love without judgment. I
Am here, my child, you
Amaze me and I will
Always love you.
