What You Left Behind

A Poem

What You Left Behind

A blank whiteboard,

An empty cup,

Messages that will forever remain unread.

***

Why did you have to leave?

I wasn't ready for you to go,

Not even a little bit.

***

Now I have no puzzle partner,

No coffeeshop companion,

No backup vocalist in the passenger seat.

***

What will I do now?

I guess just live my life,

Always thinking of you.
