Don't Turn Around

What You Don't See

As close as a shadow

that you'll never see

A whisper of a prayer

on a rosary bead

A breath escaped in a sigh

while caught in deja vu

The senses piqued high

for something just out of view

A tingling sensation

as air touches your skin

The slightest vibration

the faintest sight of a grin

That gnawing feeling

that you have been here before

Footsteps through the ceiling

and the slamming of doors

A whisper under breath

and a scent unfamiliar

The feeling of dread

the shape of a figure

Are your eyes playing tricks

are you under pursuit

When the goosebumps leave pricks

there may be something behind you
