What the Tomatoes Knew

A bedtime song from the vegetable patch

According to the Tomatoes — Rendered by the author in Midjourney

"Tomatoes know where children go

when children disappear.

They blush because they’ve seen it all

and dare not tell you, dear.

They’ve seen the houses turn around.

They’ve seen the gardens crawl.

They’ve seen the great eye open wide

behind the kitchen wall.

So cut them small and boil them well

and never mind their screams.

Tomatoes keep their secrets best

when softened into dreams."
