What Rage Feels Like

Quadriptych of Poems

"Majority Fools"

What's good for the goose,
Is good for the gander.
Wrap my neck in a noose,
From all that damn slander.
What is good for one,
Is not good for all.
Different lives are spun,
Before we even start to crawl.
I can talk and talk,
Until I'm blue in the face.
But your guidelines are chalk,
That you refuse to erase.
Singular in mind,
Solitary in view,
Keep on being confined,
By everything you thought you knew.
A line in the sand,
So easy to cross,
But your high demands,
Mean endless lives are lost.
But we have this system,
That's confounding to me,
It leaves so many victims,
So much for "land of the free".
But this is what happens,
When you go by majority rules.
Peoples lives are blackened,
Because the majority are fools.

"Torpor"

Breaking news, alarming views, tattered shoes, the lives we lose.
Shocking thoughts, feelings fraught, lives are bought, all for nought.
Tears are shed, prayers in head, the breaths we dread, things left unsaid.
Then life repeats, it's in these streets, our shock defeats, blame the elites.
Their news distracts, forget the facts, their word subtracts, none can relax.
Torpor, complacence in horror.
Our lives are just torture.
But still we ignore more.
Torpor, apathetic in all ways.
Forget what they all say.
Straight faced through the craze.
Torpor, eyes masked with indifference.
And this is my inference.
That most do not believe that there will be deliverance.

"Condemn"

Nicked knuckles, sharp pin pricks on your finger.
Blood wells up, don't want it to linger.
Wash and cover it all up and over.
Make it look like you never loved her.

Hmm...

Who's to say you're in the wrong,
These are just the lyrics of a song.

So...

Pay it off, pull the strings, weave life like a seamster.
Try to forget how loud her screams were.

.

.

.

And yet you're listening now. You're listening now.

Beat and bruised with just makeup to cover.
Yet another story of broken lovers.
So many somehow it's another circus.
All these stories it's got me feeling nervous.

I don't get; don't get why it always happens.
Why her eyes always get blackened.

Is it all her fault?

Why would it be her fault?

Everything's good it's great why are you asking?
Is she really so bad at masking?
Do her hands shake, feet quake, her body full of tremors?
Despite all that, still they condemn her.
STILL THEY CONDEMN HER!

Still they condemn her..

They still condemn her...

No one's...listening...now...

"Temporary Fixes"

This is a world of temporary fixes,
A bullet wound, you say? A bandage the trick is.
Sinking budgets into repeated remedies,
No one can agree, either extremity.
One side nixes, the other is for it,
Can never agree to fully restore it.
The whole cost is too great,
So make payments on a variable interest rate,
End up paying more than what you actually owe,
They charge high, your bank account goes low.
Why agree on a budget when you can just move the date?
Increase the burden on those who shoulder the weight.
"Why fix something that's not broken more?"
Are all the pieces on the ground not spoken for?
Sure, it works, for now, I guess.
But aren't all these temporary fixes stopping progress?
What we really need is a complete overhaul,
Because advancement has slowed into a crawl.
And God knows no human can make that happen.
Our problems, too much for any human passion.
Can a singular human ever actually fix
What centuries upon centuries of human politics
Has systematically destroyed?
The answer is no, each idea is null and void.
There has never been a human to actually know,
How to make a society actually happily grow.
Leaders rise and they fall,
Once they become hotheaded with gall.
But what these leaders have never realized,
Is that their efforts have immortalized,
That the constant struggle of humankind,
Can only be likened to blind leading the blind.
And the only way out of this endless darkness,
Is if we trust one who won't leave us a carcass.
One who reigns eternal.
And will eventually destroy all that's infernal.
One who has always loved us,
So much so that he created us from the dust,
Then sent his son to die for us all.
The scales no longer tip, one side doomed to fall.
So why would I vote for an imperfect human,
When there is a real answer, a real solution,
To be found on the pages within,
A book that shines brighter than millions of lumen.
