What Our Alma Seeks

It’s nature and simple life

The horizonte stretches wide,

Bordered by morado colina.

Beneath it stands a humble cabaña,

With smoke rising from the chimenea.

A jardín surrounds the casita,

Filled with frutas and verduras.

Under the sombra of an árbol,

Gallinas and a patos rest.

In the nearby prado,

Vacas and ovejas graze.

The aire is fresh,

Carrying the scent of flores.

I sit on a piedra,

Watching the atardecer.

The cielo glows orange,

Cuervos return to their nido.

That is the vida our alma seeks.

Translations:

The horizon stretches wide, bordered by purple hills. Beneath it stands a humble cabin, with smoke rising from the chimney. A garden surrounds the little house, filled with fruits and vegetables. Under the shade of a tree, hens and a ducks rest.

In the nearby meadow, cows and sheep graze. The air is fresh, carrying the scent of flowers. I sit on a stone, watching the sunset. The sky is orange, crows are returning to their nest. That is the life our soul seeks.
