what once was

before disillusionment

By NovaPublished 5 months ago 1 min read

The sunlight doesn't shine through your eyes today.

The light I've grown to cherish

Almost as I cherish the sun on my face.

You are my light.

The empty space next to me echoes your name.

It screams all the words you can't say.

These memories,

Burning holes in my surface

From the inside out.

If only I could make your walls talk,

They'd tell me all your little secrets.

The whispers that escape your lips

When the moon shines down on them.

The things you write.

All of the beautiful hidden pieces of your soul.
