What Is Under the Bed

Can you die of fright

By Mark Stigers Published 2 years ago • Updated 2 years ago • 1 min read

I woke up last night,

was something under the bed?

I got a shocking fright,

and was filled with dread.

I thought I heard a sound.

I am afraid to move.

While I quickly glance around,

It’s my bravery I have to prove.

I gather up my resolve.

I am so very terrified.

My strength it dissolves

as under the covers I hide.

My body shakes.

I’ve closed my eyes tight.

My dignity is at stake,

as I ask, “Can you die of fright?”

I try hard to scream.

I find that I am petrified.

I ask is this a bad dream,

or tonight l’m going to die?
