What Is The Music Of Your Subconscious?
Feel It, Express It
Music is the vibration of cosmic energy, and therefore a universal language. We all are connected in this cosmos and therefore the music which stirs your heart, touches some chord, somewhere, miles away, in someone unknown, unseen to you. Such is the power of music. It is an invisible anchor.
Music in itself is a complete whole, we are just parts of it, trying to find solace in the part our heart echoes with. Music does not depend on any worldly faculty to prove itself.
The greatest example is Beethoven, the legendary composer. He started having hearing difficulties around his late 30s and was rendered completely deaf by the age of 44.
Beethoven continued to compose music, entirely by the sounds of his imagination in complete deafness. Such is the power of the music of the subconscious!
Musical Prompt
Well, this leads us to a musical prompt. Yes, it is about the music you hear in your subconscious! The music you hear when you are detached from this world!
Prompt: What is the music of your subconscious?
Write something you hear when you are detached from this world — what do you hear in your subconscious?
Is it the sound of the waves of tranquility?
or the sound of your longing for someone/something?
or the everyday rigamarole?
or the chirping of birds, fluttering of leaves?
Anything!

Clinging to Childhood
The playground is empty, as it should be past sundown. There is a warm breeze, and I can see everything despite the late hour. What time is it, anyway? It could very well be past midnight. I can never keep track of time, especially in the summer. A prickly piece of popcorn hides like a stowaway in the left cup of my padded training bra. I stuffed the tissue in last minute— a decision I’m beginning to regret, based on the events that are unfolding rapidly before me. To my left, laying non-chalantly on his back, is my date for the evening. He is two years older, could probably grow facial hair if he wanted to, and drives a secondhand Honda. He may as well be a Man. I, on the other hand, feel like a fraud with my too-short short-shorts, sparkly lip gloss, and makeshift push-up bra. I keep my arms pinned to my sides as I feel the dreaded circles of sweat beginning to manifest on my brand new Abercrombie top. I cup my elbows with my hands and stare down at my hint of cleavage, praying that the tissue doesn’t pop out like a white flag surrendouring my lack of womanhood.
