What Is Music
The True Meaning of This Thing We Call 'Music'
What is music? Is it humming around a campfire? Or is it screaming into a mic over a loud 808, piano looped beat. Music is, well real music is the connotation, not necessarily the thing itself. Music is not just a lifestyle but more of a way of life. Music isn't just singing about love but more of the feeling. Music is the movement, the butterflies you get when you hear a certain song, the feeling that makes you sit back and think, "Exactly...this person really gets it." It's more than the hype but the feeling of being free, it's that whole other universe that you enter when you put those headphones in or turn that radio up. It's the feeling all your stress melt away. It's peace, it's joy, it's pain, it's your whole LIFE all wrapped up in three to five minutes. It's the spiritual connection with the words of the song, not the song itself. It's the flashbacks you get when the artist says "When your love is lost, your whole world gone all, when the one you need don't need you, what do you do when love is lost?" And begin to think about your situation and it feels as if the artist was speaking directly to you. THAT is music! THAT is true poetry!
