What is Love?

Poem by C. S. Morgan

By Christine StrychPublished 3 years ago • 1 min read

Falling in love is like falling asleep; slow and then all at once.

Being in love is like kindergartners connecting over the most obscene things and becoming best friends within five minutes but having no idea what to say in the sixth minute

Falling out of love is an exorcist trying to bring back something that is long gone while trying to extinguish something that was never meant to be

Being out of love has you lost in the enchanted forest with no idea which way to go, hoping that you’ll find some magic along the way

Finding a new love is the pause at the top of a rollercoaster when you see endless possibilities in front of you, until they fly past as you go speeding down the track

Seeing your past love find a new love is visiting your childhood home and bearing witness to how the new owners changed it in a way you never imagined

But finding the love of your life is dancing like nobody's watching, singing at the top of your lungs to music that’s the beat of your heart as you realize your soulmate's heart is playing the same staccato that you dance and sing to together for the rest of your lives.
