What if Love Isn't the Answer?

We're taught from the start
That we must find "The One."
The one who will
Complete us
Stand by us
Satisfy us.
The one who will love us in return forever.
We hear it in
Songs
Books
Movies
We hear it from
Family
Friends
Poets
What if it's all wrong?
What if there isn't "The One?"
Love may be the answer,
But maybe love yourself first.
Complete yourself
Stand by yourself
Be satisfied with yourself.
Spread love,
But don't get stressed looking for it.
"The One" may find you.
If not, go on loving you.
