What I Know

Mid-fight thoughts.

By Penning PenumbraPublished about a year ago • 1 min read

I know what they’re thinking.

I don’t stand a chance.

They might be right.

Every fighter here has years more experience than me.

I'm cut up, bruised, tired.

My brain hasn't realized I'm barely standing.

Even you think the same thing.

I see it in your stance,

your eyes,

the way you hold your sword.

You think you’ve already won.

I know what they’re thinking,

but they can think what they want,

because I only know two things.

I came here to fight.

And I just saw you flinch.
