What I Am

A Poem 9/14/17

By amanda ePublished 9 years ago • 1 min read

i hate you.

i was your sponge.

you filled me with your negativity and hatred.

and i accepted it.

it was the only piece of you i had.

i love you.

i was your diary.

you filled me with your dreams and aspirations.

and i was glorious.

for your penmanship made me beautiful.

i despise you.

i was your rag.

you used me until i was torn.

then you threw me aside.

but i was happy.

because you gave me purpose.

i need you.

for you are my heart.

you made your home inside me.

you are my center.

and i cannot escape you.

without you there is no me.
