What Else is There

verse 1

By Forest GreenPublished 2 months ago • 1 min read

Came from the bottom, still scraping the dirt

Dreams in my pocket but my wallet got hurt

Woke up this morning, same shirt on my back

Praying for a miracle, still praying for stacks

Cops on the corner, they watching my moves

Friends turned to ghosts when I ain't had the juice

Mama on the phone, she crying through the line

Told her keep the faith, told her everything fine

But the rent due Friday and the fridge looking bare

Told the landlord "next week," but he don't even care

Hustle in my blood, got the fire in my veins

Every loss I took just turned me to a flame

Streets talking loud but I keep my mouth shut

Trusting anybody? Nah, that gets you cut

Eyes on the prize but the vision getting blurry

Still I keep pushing, still I keep sturdy
