What Else is There

verse 2

By Forest GreenPublished 2 months ago • 1 min read

Woke up with the same fight in my chest

Same weight on my shoulders, same weight on my breath

Tried to flip a pack, tried to flip a script

Tried to flip the game but the game flipped quick

Now I'm in the mirror asking "who you really are?"

Same kid from the block with the same battle scars

Tried to call a friend but the number disconnected

Tried to call a shot but the trigger got rejected

So I light another blunt just to quiet the noise

Just to quiet the doubt, just to quiet the boys

In my head telling me that I'll never make it

But the same voice saying "don't you ever fake it"

So I lace up the boots, step into the storm

Step into the fire, step into the form

Of a man who refuses to stay on the floor

Of a man who refuses to want anymore
