What Do You See?

Negative Space

By Kelli Sheckler-AmsdenPublished 11 days ago • 1 min read

hidden in the shadows

or the reflection of a pool

riding in the shallows

in shades of purple, green or blue

illusions come to life

but never to the surface

just a portion of the light

serves as an optical illusion

the hint of something else

that never really comes to focus

a blended piece of self

that most would barely even notice

the changing of a face

though clinging tightly to my hostess

claiming negative spaces

so fast that one no one even knows it

so, tell me what you see?

as the light gently twists and bends

I can almost guarantee

you'd better take a look again
