What do you fear more?

Poetic ramblings of a Scotsman.

What do you fear more

the monster in your head

or the one in your bed?

*

what do you hate more

the neighbour who complains and moans

or the one who eats human flesh and boils the bones?

*

What do you worry about more

the politician that lies and cheats

or the one that stomps on the poor with metaphorical cleats?

*

What's really better

to have loved and lost

or to hold onto the one no matter the cost?

*

When you think of the West

do you think it's the best?

When you think of the East

do you think it's the least?

or

When you think of the west

do you feel depressed?

When you think of the East

do you feel pleased?

*

Is the mouth of a stranger better than the arse of your love?

Do you strangle with bare flesh or wear a leather glove?

Do you want the infamy of a writer or the anonymity of a poet?

*

Thanks for reading!

Author's Notes: Found this in my drafts here on Vocal. Wrote it at a similar time to Spitting Feathers. It took a turn, let's just say that.

Hope you enjoyed my ranty mumblings.

Okay, you snapped! This really had me thinking deep and the politician line. Woah. Brilliant. 🎉

  • I'll answer the most important question that you've asked. Always wear leather gloves when strangling. Don't wanna leave any fingerprints, do we? But any kinda glove would do, not necessarily leather. Please use this information wisely. Kbyeeee 🍩🥐

Well that was a tad disturbing lol! Wouldn’t expect anything less from you Paul! 😁 ..those third act murders really catch me off guard. Have you got many entries as yet for your challenge?

‘Is the mouth of a stranger better than the arse of your love? Do you strangle with bare flesh or wear a leather glove?’ Kinky! jk, I know exactly what you mean and this is another brilliant poem from you. I think most people want fame, but only on their terms. Only if they only receive adoration. Because that isn’t possible, most hide in the shadows of anonymity, and with free will being so powerful, their work is undiscovered until they die. Like Emily Dickinson. She was too fragile to be seen.
