What color?
by peter rose
The child seeks numbers bright,
just as in others sight.
Dots on pages mark out one to three,
this child is me.
While others may read to end of book,
for me no chance to look.
Deep reds and browns form figures clear,
my sight allows no such cheer.
Science can explain prisms split,
makes those like me want to spit.
Yes we can see traffic lights,
that is not my plight.
Rainbows have 7 colors bright,
but not with my eyesight.
Deeper red and green,
merge to remain unseen.
All you artists design posters vivid,
deny your message to make us livid.
Putting red on black,
should get you the sack.
