What Can't Be Said

What Can't Be Unsaid

Top Story - October 2023
Unspeakable

Unspeakably descriptive

A word held in tight

Indeterminably vague

Its utterance is contradiction

***

Used to describe the horrors

The heinous, the despicable, the tragic

It is unmentionable for everyone

Except the intrepid lexicographers

***

You can't just go around

Saying what you can't get around

People will run away

For their very lives than say

***

The word I can't say

Without contradicting myself

Is more than unspeakable, unmentionable, or covertly un-F'able

It's overtly ineffable.

Congratulation on TS status. This poem, without a doubt, deserves it. BRAVO!

I had never before thought about the deep relation between the ineffable and the un'F-able, but now all that's changed. I guess words can say too much at times. Congratulations on Top!

Great piece. To me personally, we are living in the ineffable world since Feb.24, 2022 when Russia invaded Ukraine. Israel-Hamas war is making it even more ineffable. Sometimes it feels like we are living in ineffable end times.
