What Brings Comfort To Me

What brings me comfort, it may be hard to see.

But, if you follow along, I feel you will agree. So,

Imagine asking for freedom and you already have the keys.

Imagine trying to pay for salvation only to find the debt has been paid.

Imagine believing there’s no hope, in a world built on dreams.

Imagine real life being a nightmare and only finding peace in your dreams.

Imagine believing you were born into defeat and that’s the way things would always be.

Imagine thinking you had no voice, only to find your silence was a choice.

Imagine being targeted because of the color of your skin.

Imagine being persecuted for things, your ancestors did.

Imagine once being considered 3/5ths of a man or even worse believing still, that you’re less than.

Imagine having any of these as your truth, with no clue, that these aren’t facts but the perceptions of the shallow few.

So, I take comfort in knowing, in reality, a truth we can see, I can be anything I want to be.

not being subject to what others believe and being master of my own destiny.

So, do you agree, with what brings comfort to me?
