You speak of caring, but what about her?

What about the girl who cuts her arm to feel some control?

What about the girl who can never feel whole?

What about the girl who cries herself to sleep at night?

Or the child too scared of the lack of light?

What about the girl who thinks too loud?

Or the one who panics in a crowd?

You speak of care, but what about her?

What of the woman who starves herself to be pretty?

Or the woman whose life is so shitty?

What about the girl terrified of men?

What about the child who trusted the wrong friend?

How about the girl covered in bruises and nicks?

When no one steps in, uncaring that she is hit?

What about the girl who alters herself for kind looks?

Or the one who gorges to hide the pain of everyday crooks?

What about the girl with blood between her legs?

Her cries unheard as she wails and begs?

What about the girl who works the streets?

Working and dying, just to make ends meet?

You say you care; you say you listen...

But...

What about these girls?

What about these women?

These sisters?

Daughters?

Wives?

Mothers?

What about them?
