Well You Turned Out To Be A Tramp
Just like the rest a disappointment

Well You Turned Out To Be A Tramp
You walked through town your collar turned high
Cheap little smirk and a glittering lie
Every young woman got caught in your game
Foolishly melting each time that you came
You promised the moon with a cigarette grin
Still every promise wore rotten within
Borrowed some money and vanished for days
Leaving behind just confusion and haze
Well you turned out to be a tramp after all
All of your big talk eventually small
Running through beds like a stray through the rain
Never quite caring whose heart you had stained
Your boots carried mud through every nice place
Still somehow charm kept alive in your face
People kept hoping you finally might change
Though selfishness sat in you stubborn and strange
Now years have weathered the shine from your act
Truth has a habit of slowly fighting back
Bars know your stories better than friends
Same old excuses repeated again
I saw you last winter alone by the square
Older and rough with defeat in your stare
Even the swagger had started to crack
Like life itself finally answered you back
Still part of me mourns who you could have been
Had goodness outweighed the chaos within
Some people waste every chance that they touch
Chasing the world while becoming too much
