Welcome to the Maze of Emotions

A Poem

A continuation to the first poem, "Hard to say Goodbye"

Dark clouds blinded my dispirited sight, I tried my best to shout

I pray that one day the sun would come out...

But it seemed as if the clouds clung together tightly with all of their might.

As I continued to walk blindingly within the darkness, suddenly a beam of light began to shine from the distance.

I ran as fast as I could. "My angel, is that you?"

My feet stopped...

Sounds of shoes tapping on the floor...

A dark figure walked closer along with the beam of light...

"Are you lost my dear? Never fear! You're safe with me, dry your tears."

What was once a small beam of light, transformed into an entrance, I finally see him... with a sweet smile and a hint of sparkle in his eyes, I walked in with my spirit flying high.

All over the walls, colors of the rainbow illuminate vibrantly, I felt my heart beating with joy. "Thank god. My nightmare is finally over. My sister is here."

I walked farther within the rainbow lights. A young girl with long, dark hair walked around from the distance. I walked very slowly as my heart begins to beat happily. My sight was finally clearer, she looked so young... not what I expected...

She was holding an infant tightly in her arms, singing sweet lullabies.

"How could this be?" I questioned. "That baby... is... is me."

The young girl turned to me. It was my angel...

My heart and my brain called out to her. "I'm so happy you're safe! Let's go home."

My eyes turned into confusion. She suddenly vanished into thin air. My heart raced as I finally caught my infant self.

My tiny hands kept waving, my tiny eyes kept weeping... I tried to calm myself but I was desperate; I turned around in hopes that the man, who welcomed me into the Garden of Rainbows, would lend a helping hand. My heart began to sink deeply as I hopelessly held myself in my arms. The man lifted both his hands, and took off what was known as a mask.

The sparkle in his eyes, and the sweet smile... were a bunch of lies...

With his disheartened expression, he simply waved to bid me farewell, the the rainbow gates closed in front of me as my heart began to swell.

As my infant self continued to cry and scream... I... myself... continued walking with my heart continuously breaking as I desperately held myself in my arms. "Hush, little one... remain calm... please," I replied softly to my infant self. The loud cries became a silent whimper. My tiny eyes started to close slowly in slumber, but alas the tears remained to flow slowly like a river.

As my surroundings continued to falsely enlighten its vibrant colors, within its walls, it showed it's true nature... Welcome to the Maze of Emotions.

Who knows when I'll ever be cured?
