We Stand With Karmelo
A poetic tribute to Karmelo Anthony

To guard one’s own being is very hands on. No legs to stand on?
Loss of life shouldn’t be, but sometimes you’ll see a man gone.
I respect you Karmelo. I know you did what you had to do.
Standing strong against the world of evil after you.
For Black People due justice never comes and it’s no surprise.
They fed it to us forever and said we had it, but we know the lies.
The shoe is on the other foot so now they know the cries.
No tears when they switch gears among the falsehood of their peers.
Our degradation is rooted in their irrational fears.
You’re not alone. Many stand in solidarity at the young brother’s side.
We won’t fear the evil other side of another side.
The will is strong and we’re holding up a light for you.
The struggle may never end, but we will continue to fight for you.
From Dawn to dusk, sundown to sun up, morning to noon.
Justice for you is coming and that’s right soon.
