Painful metamorphosis

Claws digging out of fingers

Jaw breaks and canines protrude

Spine is pulled and writhed

Victim of malicious machinations

Fur stabbing like needles

Through the flesh

Eyes go to the moon

Beauty incarnate

We are

Beauty incarnate

We are the hunt

...

We are the hunt

Moonlit gathering

Sprinting through the forest

Making our trails

Crossing streams

Water suffusing fur

The sounds become a chorus

Of fey delights

Sounds that bring hunger

The scents

That drive hunger wild

We are the hunt

...

We are the hunt

Heart beats faster

Prey not in sight

But in mind

Violent obsession

We will pursue

The chase gives pleasure

Like a lover’s kiss

Until our jaw clamps

Down on the prey

To feel the struggle

We are the hunt

...

We are the hunt

Flesh and bone

Warm blood

Nightly ritual appeased

Power satisfied

Hunger satisfied

The robins begin their morning song

The sun will soon rise

The hunt will end

But not forever

For

We are the hunt
