Watch My Back For Me
Keep your ears to the ground for me

Watch My Back For Me
Keep your ear to the ground
I sense there is trouble around.
You need to watch my back
I will be under attack.
Just keep your eyes open wide
And ears be the eye I need behind my back.
Be the light that keeps me safe.
When the wind starts to shift, don’t blink,
Read the silence, tell me what you think.
I move in the dark, but you’re my spark,
My signal fire when the paths get dark.
I trust your pulse more than my own.
If shadows creep close, don’t run,
Stand like a wall till the danger’s done.
I’ll walk ahead but you stand tall,
So I don’t lose myself if I fall.
You’re my shield when my sword is gone.
Speak only when the truth is near,
Lie if it saves me — lie clear.
But never let me walk blind,
Keep the rhythm, match my mind,
Move when I move, fear no fear.
If they whisper lies, I won’t hear,
You’ll be the filter in my ear.
A thousand eyes might watch us now,
But I trust your glance to show me how.
You’re the calm in the crack of sound.
And if I drop, don’t scream, don’t cry,
Just breathe for me, until I rise.
I don’t need the world to understand,
Only your steady, open hand.
You’re the map when the stars go black.
