Was Struck By Lightning In My Dream

It came without a warning sound,

no thunder rolled across the sky,

just sudden light that split me open,

sharp and bright behind my eyes.

I felt it tear through bone and thought,

a burning line from head to ground,

yet in that pain there lived a calm,

a silence deeper than a sound.

The world stood still around that flash,

as if time paused to let it be,

a moment stretched beyond its shape,

holding something close to me.

I woke with breath I could not steady,

heart still racing from the strike,

as if the dream had crossed a line,

and followed me into the light.

Was it fear or something more,

a message dressed in violent glow,

a shock to wake what sleeps inside,

a truth I do not yet quite know.

But part of me still feels that spark,

quiet now but not yet gone,

as if that lightning chose its mark,

and left a fire to carry on.
