War Zone
From the Perspective of a Solider Battling for His Life

My mind is a war zone, it is as if I am a soldier from World War One and I am waiting to arise from the trenches while running to my death.
The bombs are going off, as I approach ‘no mans land’, I am scared, frightened, anxious, waiting for the inevitable end as I sit and wait for the signal, the signal as I have to fight the opposition; the opposition is my own mind.
My mind is like a war zone, the toxic gases, I am suffocating, gasping for air while the intoxicating air coats my lungs, will I survive the war?
My mind is like a war zone, it is so loud, the trenches are the places I hide, the places I hide, they keep me safe.. it is too loud, too loud for me to handle.. I cant do this, I can’t fight for my right to live.
My loved ones are waiting for me, they are waiting for the time I win this war, the war against my own mind is the most powerful war of all.
My mind is like a war zone, but when will it stop? When I die? Or when I survive? It is too soon to tell.
