War soldiers returning home

No more wars

War soldiers come back home, with scars on their soul

Their eyes have seen the horrors, no one should ever know

They've fought for our freedom, in a war far away

And now they're back to us, but forever changed in a way

War soldiers come back home, but the battle's not done

They carry the weight of what they've seen and done

They've faced the demons, and the sound of the gun

But now they're back to us, and their fight is not done

War soldiers come back home, with memories that haunt

With images that they wish, they could simply forget

But they'll carry them always, in their mind's eye and heart

And they'll live with it forever, as a part of their journey's chart

War soldiers come back home, to the love of their kin

To the open arms of their family, who's been missing them

But they'll still be haunted by the things they've seen

And they'll need time to heal, and find peace within

We must honor and remember, the sacrifices they've made

And show them the love, support, and gratitude they've earned

For they've fought for our freedom, and their bravery should never fade

War soldiers come back home, and for that, we are forever yearned.
