WALTZING
Dancing with Distraction

Distant drummers drumming.
Icy imagination igniting.
Scary situations screaming.
Twilight thunder terrorizing.
Raging rain relentlessly rapping.
Acidic announcements annoying.
Constant commercials complaining.
Tremors technically troubling.
Innocuous insects invading.
Outcry occurrence oscillating.
Notorious notification nod.

Writer's notes: This acrostic poem is entered into the Dancing With Distraction Challenge. In addition, each line is an alliteration
According to Vocal, "The Prompt
Write an acrostic using the word distraction.
An acrostic is a form of poetry in which the first letter of each line when read vertically from top to bottom, spells out a word, phrase, or name. It is a creative way to incorporate a hidden message or theme within a poem. The word that is spelled out through the initial letters of each line is typically related to the overall subject or theme of the poem.
The theme of this challenge's acrostic, distraction, can be both a hindrance and a wellspring of inspiration. It pulls our attention away, diverting us from our intended path, yet it also opens doors to unexpected ideas and perspectives. Whether it's the lure of social media, the buzzing chaos of a bustling city, or the cacophony of thoughts battling for attention within our minds, distractions are an ever-present force in our lives. In this contest, we want you to embrace the chaos and uncover the hidden treasures that lie within the realm of distraction."

I love this! I started taking ballet lessons recently actually, and it's a lot of fun <3
Great work and use of alliteration!
I love that you've used alliteration on each line, really well done :D xx
The structure of this the flow the rhythm were out of this world! Great work Babs
Wow. Amazing!
Waltzing with words. I get it, Lovely.
I love the rhythm to this! It is like an actual dance through life, so full of seemingly dark distractions. I think this is my favorite in this challenge so far. BEAUTIFUL poem!
I forgot to comment on this when I initially read it, but so far this is the most relatable list of distractions in poetic form that I have read. Especially living in Minnesota. We’ve had some crazy rains, and I’ve got the exterminator coming tomorrow because I’ve seen and killed two large centipedes haha. “When it rains, it pours”—especially when I’m trying to write. Great job, Babs!
So fun to read, Babs! Very nice!
