The way he used to smile at me with that confidence he had knowing I was his and he was mine.
Never a thought went through our mines of losing each other to someone else
In fact, it was the opposite.
I was the one who chose to leave after so many years
Tears ran down my face
As I drove off
Not letting him know
That I would never return
It’s as if I was a ghost that disappeared,
In thin air
Who before,
Was happy but, not happy enough, there had always been something missing
It was me
I had lost myself
So now, it’s been twenty some years and I’m finally finding who I truly am.
A independent kind woman
Who has finally found her true love and that’s herself
I finally realized after all these years I never loved myself
I pretended to always be who they wanted me to be instead of me being me
Now I realize just be me
She is good enough
Even with all of her quarks
