*Waking Up*

The morning breaks with tender light,

A quiet end to velvet night.

Through curtains, dawn begins to creep,

And stirs the world from peaceful sleep.

A bird sings out, the first soft note,

That sets the day’s bright song afloat.

The sky, once dark, now fades to blue,

The air is cool, the earth is still,

Awaiting life’s awakening thrill.

With every breath, the world begins,

And in that moment, pure and new,

We rise, refreshed, with skies in view.
