I'd like to see colourful leaves on the ground,
Feel the morning chill in the air,
Smell warm tomato soup cooking in a pot,
And;
Feel the crunch of branches.
I wonder;
Will this heat return?
Will the earth burn,
Once again?
or;
Will we feel our breaths chilled as we wait
for winters cooling fingers?
I've had enough of the heat;
I anticipate the embrace of chilly feet,
I am waiting for falling leaves,
Since Autumn is a symbol to say
Winter will be here,
To bring its happy cheer,
Goodbye Summer;
I am waiting for Autumn,
And,
Praying it will arrive.
