Another day, harder than the last, another year without you
Needing your lips, your kiss, your touch
Navigating in the darkness without your love and support
I replay our last goodbye, wishing it was different, knowing a million more chances wouldn't suffice
Vacillating between peace and despair, acceptance and rage,
Every stage of grief, when does it end
Ruminating, as my therapist says, won't change the past
Still, it keeps you alive in a twisted, self-destructive cycle,
Always on my mind, always in my soul, my blood, my every waking moment
Resonating over and over like an echoing scream
Your shadow will never leave me
