'paul verlaine - cesare bacchi (1938)'

'#24'

make a mask

of your silver

when secrets

remain dormant

upon perfumes

of silence

'the portal of rouen cathedral in morning light - monet (1894)'

'#26'

dead souls

an empty page

innumerable visions

possess me

think

of what the poet said

sinking cathedrals

after the fall

from a distance

reflections

touching

'casting rebel angels into hell - william blake (1808)

'#27'

the departed

fall and lilt

upon an amber wave

of burning

celestial wings

I utter a prayer

for all those parting

in whom imagination

forgot to witness

'girl's head against the shore - edvard munch (1899)'

'#23'

time

etches itself

within you

as death

smiles

in your eyes

and I trace skies

becoming storms

among you

'les amoureaux - marc chagall (1928)'

'#21'

we lie

side by side

one pierced, in dreams

for the other

it is amongst this wilderness

that will, upon waking

become our flesh

not in this life

but in the one

where we are sleeping

'the garden of earthly delights (detail) - hieronymous bosch'

#13

three brothers

lie beside a rotting pig

as hallucinatory breath

births her

to cut up and reorder

a fire to ascent

stars speak

with revolving tongues

and silence before white

is black

a sound throbs

in chosen blood

as she has become

reason to overcome

so let us drink to her

breath of one

who has dreamt

the ten thousand lives

from sand to dust
