Versatile
Do you know what it’s like - to live an impossible life
To have everything turn into nothing right before your eyes
Watching it all go
Playing back like a movie stuck on slow
So you always have to know
Do you know how it feels - to have to live with your fears
To sit in the same room trapped with the monsters licking your tears
Hearing them laugh at your pain
Cruelty being all that resides in their brain
Never knowing when it will come again to rip you apart and tare you open
Have you ever been broken down to dust and sand - put yourself back together just so it can happen again
Staring off into the silence of your shattering soul - pulling at your insides trying to understand. Begging for it to end.
Covered in the violence broken across your face
Having your body taken to leave you in disgrace
Spending everyday that way
trapped in a cage
no longer able to relate
fear crawling across my skin every time I look at him
Have you ever wondered what it means to stand in the dark and try to scream
It’s a silent sound that doesn’t let you breathe
It’s both wretched and loud
Crawling up your throat with no way to get out
Ripping right through you until you’re vibrating with pain
Did you know that sometimes it’s the only sound that I can make
right before I’m about to break
Do you know what it’s like to be hunted down - to be carved out of the world and placed in the ground
To feel so abandoned your to scared to make a sound
Afraid if you do all you’ll see is how there will be no one around
To never have anyone by your side
because no one has ever allowed you to be alive
To see the reflection that you make in someone else’s eyes knowing how easy it is for them to believe their own lies
While I’m trapped inside
A half-life is not a life - living in a box masked by neon disguise
A place empty of comfort or any kind of love
A place filled with so much destruction it’s burned into every touch
Here where I remain so broken and alone where no one bothered to look thinking it must be fine or at least good enough
