Venom

You deserve better

Closed eyes tell no lies.

Only once opened can they tell the truth.

I wish I could tell you what you want to hear.

But I can’t get the words out,

A snake entangled in its own tongue.

Dying for truth, with the venom spreading quickly.

Can you read my eyes?

Feel my tension?

I can’t tell you, or see you fall apart.

Not today.

Or ever.

So I'll hide.

Not look at you, or show you the truth.

The truth you deserve.

I’m sorry.
