Vanilla Twilight

How do you live?

By Lakshmipriya ArunachalamPublished 9 years ago 1 min read

I used to think vanilla twilight was just a colour,

a way to describe a sleep deprived appreciation

of what I once knew,

now a thousand times more interesting.

Funny, isn’t it?

How we can just pass by twilight every night,

but never truly see what it is?

But now I realize, vanilla twilight

is how I live my life.

The feeling of being doused in overwhelming thoughts

of never wanting to be alone

of being weighed down by the mere presence of air.

There is no escape.

There never is.

What am I doing here?

Waiting.
