Vampire

Creature of the Dark

Dracula

From the darkness I was born.

It is my mother, my mother true.

I am one of the forlorn,

from the evil it bestows on you.

If I bite and you don’t die.

Your soul I will turn.

Forever you will ask why,

for blood you always yearn.

I am known to change how I’m formed.

I like to fly like a bat into your room.

If with a silver cross you are adorned,

then you are safe from my doom.

From the sun’s cleansing rays,

I hide in a coffin and sleep.

I do not walk in the light of day,

for that is my one true defeat.

From garlic I will turn.

Its smell makes me sick.

My skin and nose it will burn,

no mere old wives trick.

Will a wooden stake,

pounded through my heart,

be the thing that takes,

my cursed life apart?

If on you I come to call,

you will bear the mark.

Under a curse you will fall,

bound to a creature dark.
