I think about a sibling that never was.

Not that I'd need or want for her to exist.

Just the effect it had on my mother,

and how it reverberated through her life

Shamed by a cult mindset broken over what if

I think about a child that never was

Not that I'd need or want for them to exist

Just the effect that it may have on my lover

And how it might reverberate through her life

Shamed by a cult mindset

Is she wondering what if

I think about a child that now could be

Unneeded and unwanted just forced to exist

The effect it has on both child and mother

Generations of Generational trauma

Reverberates through their lives

Shame on a cult mindset

eliminating your what if

I think about a generation of children that were

Raised unneeded and unwanted (Yes, we exist)

Suffering the effects it had

On both us and our mothers

And how it reverberated

throughout our entire lives

Where we're shamed by a cult mindset

Where a human being's value

Has been drowned in a sea

Of endless possibilities of what if

I'm thinking of a future where we are free

Not only needing but wanting to exist

And the effect that we have on each other

And how our choices define our lives

Where we are unashamed in our mindsets

Where we value human beings over your what if

We act toward a future where we are truly free

No needing only wanting to exist

Sharing our affections with 1 another

N' how our action defines (y)our lives

Where we are all unashamed in our mindsets

Where we value human beings over our what if's
