Upside Down Life

The clocks all chimed before their time,
While rivers learnt to slowly climb.
The shadows walked beneath the sun,
As midnight said the day had begun.

The birds flew backwards through the rain,
Laughing softly without a name.
The moon looked down from fields below,
While stars were buried under snow.

The mirrors showed another face,
One smiling from a different place.
Every doorway changed its side,
Leaving nowhere left to hide.

The silence learnt to scream aloud,
The lonely disappeared in crowds.
The truth wore lies like velvet lace,
And fear smiled with an angel’s face.

Perhaps this world is not askew,
Perhaps it’s simply showing you…
That upside-down is all we’ve known,
While reality stands… all alone.

The oceans whispered secrets deep,
Of forgotten dreams they could not keep.
The mountains bowed beneath the night,
As darkness danced with fading light.

The candles burned with frozen flame,
Calling out a stranger’s name.
The footsteps echoed through the air,
But no one knew who had been there.

Maybe the world has lost its way,
Or maybe dawn hides from the day.
For in the chaos we have known,
A hidden truth is still our own.

The seasons turned without a sign,
As broken stars began to shine.
The wind carried a distant song,
Telling hearts where they belong.

The heavens cracked, the oceans sighed,
As lost souls searched the other side.
Yet through the darkness, hope remained,
A quiet light that could not be chained.

When everything feels upside down,
And shadows steal the brightest crown,
Look deep within and you will see,
The strangest worlds hold mystery.
