Upon This Very Sight

Darkened light of the moon, lingers upon his grave.

with deadened blades of grass hid

within the shadows of each massive stone.

In the distance, numerous screeching bats echoed throughout her ears.

and from each leaf that crunches beneath every step she takes.

to a cold piercing wind that brings chills to her very spine.

For she holds nothing but a wilted rose to put upon this very sight.

minute by minute, She stepped closer to his grave.

She felt an urge to vomit,

as a gust brought a putrid stench of rotten flesh.

She stopped suddenly

for her heart filled up with sorrow

and her eyes locked to water.

There she stood with rose in hand.

staring at her lovers burial.

When a glimmered drop forms beneath her dulled eyes.

Pushing ever so slowly down to her lips.

For then she wipes away her sadness.

bringing forth the rose, to his forgotten tomb.

She placed the flower, so very gently.

but to her surprise ,

the air had cleared from this chaotic hex.

She lifted her head up towards the night sky

to herself she sighed with relief

molding a lonely smile upon her soft face.

within the shadows of her lengthy silhouette

a small hint of hope flashs within tonight.

She felt revived upon this very sight.
