On a good day it’s easy,

To trust and believe,

There’s purpose, there’s value

Each life will achieve.

They say to have Faith,

Repeat to yourself,

A mantra, a chorus,

Of joy and good health.

With disciplined practice,

Success will be yours,

Abundance and love,

A life you adore.

But then you look up,

Or down at a screen,

The world is on fire,

So much to grief to be seen.

It’s more about Us,

Than it is about Me,

This collective experience,

Of we who speak for the trees.

It’s hard to have Faith,

In any form, any shape,

When non-sensical pain,

Comes from power or hate.

Believe in the good,

To choose love over fear,

Seems too hard to do,

Without hope, and through tears.

Look for the helpers,

Is the best we can do,

To cling to what’s good,

In what’s real and true.

Unwavering Faith,

Uncommon and rare,

But perhaps that is best,

Or else, would we care?

We all have our doubts,

Hard times of despair,

Unwavering Faith,

Does not hang in the air.

Life is not easy,

And the world is a mess,

And all we can do,

Is just try our best.

I wish you good things,

And all that you seek,

And Faith in whatever,

Helps you get through the week.
