Untruthful Faith

Say It Again

People enjoy causing pain,

Speaking words they shouldn't utter.

They express themselves freely

To friends, children, or spouses.

Remaining true to their faith, but not to themselves.

This chain of command

Then extends to the next round.

The next generation follows this rat hole,

Unknowingly serving the devil.

Remaining true to their faith, but not to themselves.

Then they go to church to confess their sins.

It's a better path

Than apologising for their wrongdoings,

Which would ease the minds of their friends, children, and spouses.

Remaining true to their faith, but not to themselves.

They don't realise how hypocritical they seem,

Blasphemous in the eyes of their supposed deity.

While serving Him, they forget that religion doesn't answer all existential questions.

It's meant to help some improve internally.

Remaining true to their faith, but not to themselves.

Instead, they turn it into a source of pride

And joy, deeming themselves

Better than non-believers —

Non-believers who lost their faith precisely because of this hypocritical crowd.

Remaining true to their faith, but not to themselves.

Thank goodness for that.

No one wants to delve into their own mind.

They'd rather confess and then forget,

Only to repeat the cycle next month.

I know because I've been there.

Faithful to religion, not loyal to myself.

Without a clear path, I blindly followed an unseen schedule

Imposed upon me, with no chance of escape.

Now I see them, and they see me,

We share no commonalities; thus, let matters rest.
