When I was younger, the monsters used to hide under my bed

but now that I'm older, they've moved inside my head

and they don't plan on leaving soon, at least not that I'm aware

seems as though they've gotten comfortable and permanently settled in there

others tell me I need to get rid of them, and maybe I should

but they are the only ones who really stay, so I don't think I ever could

Sometimes they get loud and I wish they'd quiet down

Other times we talk for hours when no one's around

They are there when im not, if you know what I mean

They are there when I'm sleeping, they show up in my dream

We have grown so close together, they've taught me a lot

No matter if they go or stay, the lessons I've learned bc of them will never be forgot.
