If one moment could stop
the song that keeps on flowing
in dark hate
bloodshed at fingertips,
love engulfed in a waterfall
of doubts
and anger,
would it be that one voice
you used to hold dear above
all other noise
of ocean's dreams?
***
An hourglass tells of the time
when you were smiling on the sand,
ashore,
far from the waves
of doubt
that turned home
into island
on sea of netherland.
***
Alone, despairing
for heartfelt embrace,
were you the one to tear apart the walls
did ivy whisper of a longing
wailing inside a chest
of memories too heavy, too cruel
to come out and meet sunshine,
too wicked to withstand redemption,
yours still,
smoldering ashes
a part of you,
the edge
you can't forget
or hide.
***
The hourglass stood still
while you were trying to be good,
sharing smiles and the yearning
to help, adore, desire
but soul demanded storms
and thunder.
Did you deny the claims
a lightning striking,
no forgiveness
for who loved you most
or gave more
you took it all in one hand,
threw away
dust of emotions tangling hatred.
***
Now you are free,
you roam,
searching for wishes to destroy,
wondering if the sand of time
will render one more spirit
you can crush
into black night,
your friend, your foe,
the only home
you've ever known,
that stayed
inside a demon soul.
