Unmoored

He didn't break my heart; he broke me.

3. UNMOORED

The craziness has me in its grip,

Its fingers tight around my throat.

Squeezing the life from me, one breath at a time.

All day all night, I drown in thoughts

Of you,

Of you with her,

Of you with me,

Of you without me,

Of me

Without

You.

I claw at the darkness,

But cannot touch the air. Cannot feel the light. Cannot shake the cold.

The pain of loss is crippling.

And this time, there is no release.

I buried myself deep within you.

Blind to the passing of time and the falling of the leaves.

Our souls stitched together,

Now ripped, frayed,

Bound only by a single thread.

You gently pull

And I unravel.
