The funny thing is that one day you will find this in a book of mine

Under a name you will not recognize

You will not know that I wrote this for you

In the pages of different queer poetry book

You will never know of the letters I wrote you

Of the worries I held for you

Of the vastness of my love for you

You stared into the depths and were frightened of me

Claiming you were scared for me

You do not know how I held on tighter to saying “I love you”

Than I ever held onto you

How little I trusted you

How much I wanted you to want it

My only saving grace is that I have not cried over you

If I ignore all the ink I’ve spilled over you

Some finally coming into fruition in front of you

Only seen in an unknowing glance

heartbreak
