Tormented by thoughts of black and white

stuck in shadows of gray

Drowning in seas of red and blue

escaping in purple hues

Charged by electric yellows

and fooled by promising greens

In the end

we all are blind

Trapped inside oblivion

is when the truth turns clear

You can go through life chasing rainbows

believing whatever resides within the pot of gold will relieve you

of your suffering, your regret, your trials and tribulations

The limits of desire can be enchanting

But until we face and accept

Until we find light within

the colors that paint us dark

the grounds beneath our exile

we all remain imprisoned

spiraling together

in the polarity

in the division

in the tempestuous vortex

of life’s duality

To embrace the pain

To see beyond the mirage

To recognize the invincible,

sacred essence

of the heart’s core

as it meets in union

at the depths

of the soul

Beyond the realms of good and bad

of right and wrong

of pain and pleasure

of have’s and have-not’s

of religion and reason

of life and death—

there is a field

where in time we will meet

to become one

with the enlightened,

unwavering nature

of all spirit

Release all fear

Give love to all hate

inward and outward

Be free

from the past

Be an example

for the future
